A lot has happened in 2024 on the ALS front.

But please let me tell you!

First, my organization ( formerly ALS Golden West) left the national ALS Association this year along with 15 of some of the largest ALS chapters in the country to form a new and more ambious organization.  The organization that I have been on the board for the past 8 years and continue to serve is now called The ALS Network.  And we left the national association for one major reason:

While we still provide world class care for more people with ALS than anywhere else in the US, we have embarked on our OWN major scientific research funding and granting effort!  Many of the other 15 ALS chapters who left the national organization have joined us in this effort.  

In addition to our patient care and advocacy work we have

  - launched a multimillion dollar research funding campaign

  - gathered a world class scientific advisory board

  - held our first streamlined and expedited pitch sessions

  and

  - already awarded our first 3 projects!  

We are keen to funding strategic and ambitious early stage projects that more rapidly deliver pathways to effective prevention strategies, treatments and cures.  It is pretty phenominal what we have done in just ONE year.

So please, please help me and all those afflicted with ALS by donating to my Napa Ride team Della & Davis today.  Sadly remember, ALS is an equal opportunity disease.  Most ALS (over 80%)  strikes anyone out of the blue with no family history .  

In memory of Tim, his father Ken and his grandfather Glenn I've made a $1000 donation to the So Cal Ride for ALS Cures and also a $1000 donation to the Napa Valley Ride for ALS Cures.  Any size donation you can make will help us greatly find an END to ALS
