Established in loving memory of Mary Elizabeth (“Betsy”) Hinkle Brandt, this fund will assist people living with ALS and their families in Hawaii.

Betsy passed on March 5, 2022 at age 78 after bravely fighting ALS with courage, dignity and grace.

During Betsy’s struggles, she and her family were greatly supported and assisted by loving and kind caregivers. Their help was invaluable.

Many ALS patients and their families do not have the resources to hire caregivers, even for a day of relief or respite. Family caregivers need our help. It was Betsy’s wish to establish a fund to help such ALS patients and their families.
