To know Judy Walton was to love her. She had a wonderful spirit, humble determination, and unwavering faith that helped guide her through her battle with ALS. On Tuesday, June 1st 2021, Judy's brave fight ended, and she went home to the Lord. Born in 1938 in Long Beach, California, Judith (Judy) as most knew her, started showing her inner drive early. As a young teen, she began taking the bus to church alone because of how important her faith was to her. This drive continued throughout her entire life, through her many adventures. Years of globe trotting, RV trips, and hobbies created a wonderful, full life where Judy was surrounded by many friends and family.
Judy herself would tell you her greatest adventure was her family. She married her high school sweetheart, Don, in 1956, and together they wrote their story of love, adventure, and family for 64 years. They were blessed with two daughters, Donna and Linda, and together, the Walton family created an amazing life in Long Beach. Judy was also a loving grandmother to her three granddaughters, Lauren, Erin, and Melinda, and was enamoured with her three great-grandchildren, Henry, Chloe, and Nora. Judy was happiest when her family was together, especially for the holidays. Her family was truly her pride and joy, and what she enjoyed more than anything was watching her great grandchildren play together.
After their daughters were grown, Judy and Don traveled the world. They went on safari in Africa, cruised the canals by gondola in Venice, and climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, just to name a few. They were also long time members of their much loved RV travel group, the Chardonnay Travelers. Judy also had many hobbies that kept her busy, and that she enjoyed sharing with those that were close to her. After spending most of their lives in Long Beach, Judy and Don took a leap of faith and relocated to Vacaville, CA; their home for just over 25 years. In Vacaville, Judy felt instant connections to her church, and was one of the "Fab Five"; a group of people dedicated to helping others with the Festival of Trees fundraiser; a cause that became a calling for Judy. In their new community, Judy and Don made lifelong friends, contributed to several local causes, and shared many wonderful experiences. Vacaville, and it's golden, rolling hills, truly became home to Judy.
Judy is survived by her husband, Don, daughters Donna (John) and Linda (Randy), granddaughters Lauren (Brian), Erin (Steve), and Melinda, and great-grandchildren Henry, Chloe, and Nora.
