Jane and I are fundraising again to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find effective treatments and cures.
As most of you know by now, we walk to support our wonderful, beautiful, crazy friend Harry Wittenberg who inspired many of us with his passion and dedication to many causes prior to his diagnosis, and during his struggle with ALS. We also walk and fund raise to honor and support his amazing wife Mary Ann, who continues to do such much to fight against ALS.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
