WHY I WALK
Hi!
My name is Delainee Fjeldsted and I am in 6th grade. My dad went to Heaven on November 15, 2017. I was only 4 years old at that time. Now I'm 11, in 6th grade and I'm in the same class my dad taught in..
My dad was so funny, when I was 3 maybe 4 me and my dad started dancing and after a few minutes I had enough. I just wish that he did not pass away because I never had the chance to tell him how much I loved him, and I would just keep dancing with him.
As of today, ALS still has no cure. I have friends who go to Hope Love Company Camp with me and one of their dads just died. My heart is so broken for her.
On Sunday, October 20 I will be walking in memory of my dad. The walk is for raising money to find a cure for ALS. If we find a cure for ALS that will mean that all ALS will be gone, and people will no longer be suffering. If you can please donate to my walk for ALS I would like that.
If you want to walk with me and my family it will be on Sunday, October 20 at Miller Park in Fontana. You can register to walk and help me raise money if you want. You can also donate money to me and help me reach my goal. You can register online or go there at 9:30 a.m. and we will start walking at 11:00 a.m.
Thank you,
Delainee Fjeldsted
Why I Participate...
I will be participating in the ALS Network's Walk & Roll to Cure ALS, because I'm committed to supporting those affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and to spreading awareness for the urgency to find treatment and cures.
What is ALS?
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, ALS is a progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disease that slowly robs a person of their ability to walk, speak, swallow, and, eventually, to breathe.
Why We Urgently Need Your Help
Every 90 minutes, a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS, and every 90 minutes, another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, gender, or socioeconomic boundaries.
Your Impact
Everything the ALS Network does ensures access to essential care services, free of charge, and accelerates the search for effective prevention strategies, treatments and cures for ALS. Fundraising and awareness are essential to fueling this progress. Every dollar and every message counts.
