All of our wheelchair and stroller-accessible Walk & Roll to Cure ALS routes are relatively short, ranging between 1-2 miles. For more information about your location's route, please visit our Event Details page.

You can still sign up and participate as a virtual participant. If, for any reason, you can't be with us on event day, you can still participate YOUR WAY however you want, wherever you want!

At select Walk & Roll locations, our virtual participants will be able to tune in to our livestream coverage of the opening program, starting line, finish line, entertainment, and more.

If your location does not have livestream content planned, we can still help you remain connected to our in-person programs and celebration. We're happy to send you your incentive t-shirts and other "virtual kit" components and ideas to help you and your team enjoy the best event day experience possible.

ALS Network is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the law.

We will be using the Tax ID for ALS Network, which is 95-4163338.

Please include a note with your name and the event name (2024 Kern County Walk & Roll to Cure ALS) to ensure we give you full credit for your fundraising efforts. You can bring your donations to the event and hand them in at check-in, or you can mail your donations to the ALS Network's office:

No - please don't mail cash. We cannot be liable for cash donations that have been mailed to us.

All people who make an online donation via our website will receive an email confirmation and a PDF attachment that can be used for tax purposes. Those who send checks or donate cash valued at $500 or more will receive a thank you letter by mail that can be used for tax purposes (as long as we have proper contact info). Bottom line: if you have a donor who needs a receipt, please let us know and we will be happy to provide one for any level of donation.

We work hard to make sure every dollar raised and donated has maximum impact on the fight against ALS. We pride ourselves on functioning with a high standard of transparency and efficiency. Fueled by philanthropic support, the ALS Network funds global research, advances ALS advocacy, and provides professional care services free of charge. Your Personal Page is an online promotional tool to use when asking your friends and family to join your team or make a donation. Once you're signed up, a personal page is automatically created for you. You can customize this page with photos and your personal story by logging into your Participant Center. Our staff is here to help you every step of the way. (Note about content customization: To avoid saving issues due to page refreshes and time outs, it is highly recommended that you create your personal page language outside of the participant center, and on a blank Word, Pages, or other document. Copy and page your finalized language into your page content window and save.)

To login to your personal page, you will enter your username and password into the Participant Center Login window. Just select "Login" at the top right of the Walk's website. Once you've entered your username and password, you will be taken to the homepage of your Participant Center.

Team Captains can toggle back and forth between editing their personal page and their team page.

To unlock the "Send Messages" function, be sure to raise or self-donate a minimum of $5.

A team page (customized and managed by team captains, or the person who created the team) is where visitors should go to JOIN the team or find a specific person on the roster to whom they'd like to donate. A team captain can add specifics about why the entire group is participating in this event, list their goal, and add a graphic such as a group picture or a company logo.

If you do not remember your username that you set up during registration, you can reset them by clicking/tapping the links at the bottom of the Walk & Roll login page.

You don't have to, but we know from experience that the participant's personal touch makes the page more compelling to prospective donors. Be creative and have fun with it. Please know we are here to help you do this.
