Safety
Assumption of Risk
By participating with others in support of the 2025 SoCal Ride, Walk & Roll to Cure ALS, you expressly agree to comply with any and all rules and safety guidelines put in place by local authorities, and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, waiving all claims and potential claims against the event organizers, and their affiliated companies relating to such risks.
If you choose to participate with others and/or create your own team event, we strongly advise that you comply with the latest COVID-19 vaccination and booster requirements established by the CDC.
Safety Tips
Cycling is a wonderful way to see all that California has to offer while raising awareness for and supporting a great cause! Please be mindful of the following safety tips while you are out on the road. All are important parts in ensuring your safety and the safety of those you will be sharing the road with.
- Follow all rules and laws of the road.
- Ride single file, especially on narrow shoulders or when cars are close.
- Stop at all stop signs.
- Pass only on the left. Be sure to let the rider being overtaken know (politely) you are passing on the left by saying, “on your left!”
- As this is a fun ride, not a competitive race, please don’t take any chances by riding aggressively just to shave a few seconds off your ride time.
- Wear your helmet at all times while on your bike. No exceptions.
- No headphones. You need to hear other cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles.
- Signal to following riders about debris and obstacles on the road.
- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink water before you feel thirsty to keep yourself hydrated.
