Daniel Pace Running the LA Half Marathon with Team ALS
On March 17th, 2024, I will be running the LA Half Marathon with Team ALS. I will be running in honor of my grandmother (Tata), who died from ALS.
For decades, my family and I have supported ALS research in her honor, and I will be carrying this torch forward with Team ALS. I hope you will support me in my efforts to raise both awareness and support for ALS as I run the LA Half Marathon.
As you may know, ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disease that slowly robs people of their ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The average life expectancy of a person with ALS is 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. A person with ALS becomes physically locked-in as the disease progressively paralyzes the body.
The past few years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families. Together we will defeat ALS!
