We are serving more people impacted by ALS than ever before. Driven by strong donor support, support group attendance is rising, more people are accessing loans of durable medical equipment and communication devices and our community events and educational webinar series, ASK ME, reaches national and international audiences.
ALS Golden West helps power the world’s largest ALS research program, funding active projects in more than 150 labs around the globe. As the largest private funder of ALS research worldwide, our efforts have led to some of the most promising and significant advances in the field. From harnessing innovative ideas, to partnering with academia, industry, government, and other organizations our collaborative approach is the cornerstone of our efforts and drives promising science by top ALS scientists.
Fueling ALS advocacy by sharing your stories
ALS Golden West drives important state and federal public policy initiatives to benefit the ALS community. We work year-round with a nationwide network of dedicated volunteer ALS advocates to address legislative issues and secure funding to improve the lives of thousands of people with ALS and their families. This involvement has led to increased federal funding for ALS research at the NIH and federal funding for ALS research through the Department of Defense. Our ALS advocacy efforts in California, Hawaii, and across the nation, inform and educate elected officials and the public about opportunities to facilitate access to services, accelerate drug development, and reduce barriers to care and research.

ALS Golden West is serving more people impacted by ALS than ever before. We provide many opportunities for anyone touched by ALS to gather and connect with others, both online and in person. Each year, the organization hosts many memorable and spirited community outreach events like our Walks, Rides, Major League Baseball’s ALS Awareness Days, and other special events like our ALS Golf Classic and Champions for Cures and Care gala that empower, celebrate and motivate the community to be get involved in support of people living with ALS and their loved ones.

We are dedicated to providing professional care services, free of charge. We offer critically-needed information and resources which are proven to increase longevity, enhance quality of life, and help with the daily challenges of living with ALS.
