Thank you for visiting our page. Bruce and I along with our families have decided to participate with the LA Marathon ALS Charity Run again. ALS Golden West is near and dear to our hearts. Golden West was a big support to my late husband Greg Merfeld and has been to our family since 2011. Golden West continues to make a difference in the lives of so many others living with ALS. We wanted to honor the brave men in my family and give back to the Golden West Chapter for their dedication to the ALS community.
When Bruce found out that the LA Marathon was on St. Patrick’s Day, he knew he wanted to be there. He wanted to challenge himself to run a marathon again and support the Golden West Chapter. Plus St. Patrick’s Day is a great day to honor my late Irish father Jim Henesey.
Bruce began training in November 2023 and we continue to walk and hike daily with our dog Finnegan. Please check out our story on YouTube with Elex Michaelson from FOX 11 reporting on the 2018 LA Team Challenge Marathon.
Thank you for your consideration in our fundraising efforts. We want to help support the Golden West Chapter so they can continue their work to serve the ALS community and to ultimately find a cure for ALS!
