What is ALS?

ALS is a progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disease that slowly robs a person of their ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. It attempts to rob them of their dignity ... but Matt show us how to avoid that.

We Urgently Need Your Help

Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS. Every 90 minutes another person loses their battle with ALS. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic or socioeconomic boundaries.

1. The average life expectancy of a person with ALS is 2-5 years.
2. ALS can strike anyone. There is no known cause of the disease. Someone you know or love may be diagnosed in their lifetime.
3. For unknown reasons, military veterans are more likely to be diagnosed than the general public.
4. Caring for an ALS patient costs an average of $200,000/year.​
