Um, ALS Absolutely SUCKS.....
Hi--
Thanks for visiting my page. This year, the Jim Tracy 5K is going to be bittersweet, but I'll be there in memory of Cathy. Thank you so much for your support.

Update on 7/25/23
With a heavy heart, I am sad to report that our beloved Cathy passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Please know that Cathy was surround by her amazing family, and she slipped away comfortably and without distress.
I knew Cathy for almost 41 years. She was a fantastic and wonderful friend! Our years together were filled with joy, laughter, adventure, sorrow, and love. I am devastated by her loss, but so relieved that she is no longer suffering in any way, shape, or form.
After Cathy shared the news of her ALS diagnosis with family and friends in December of 2021, the second thing she said was,"We are going to raise some money to FIGHT THIS DISEASE!" Cathy's Crew has raised almost $175K in just two years, and we are so proud of this huge accomplishment. Thank you for generosity.
ALS remains a devastating disease. Please know that your gift WILL make a difference in the lives of those living with ALS today. Thank you so much.
With love, gratitude, and deepest sadness, Liz
UPDATE on 4/24/23:
Your generosity continues! I have met and EXCEEDED my $4,000 goal. Yesterday, was the Jim Tracy 5K and it was wonderful! Unfortunately, Cathy wasn't able to attend, so we had a Celebration of Love at her home, which included a rollicking parade and an amazing group hug. The day was filled with so much love for Cathy and her family. Our Crew is still working on some fundraising...so, I am increasing my goal to $5,000. I hope I can get there! xo
UPDATE on 4/13/23:
Thanks to your generosity, I have met my fundraising goal!!!!! Wow! Thank you. I am increasing my goal to $4,000! Fingers Crossed!
Hello Family and Friends,
Two words: ALS (Absolutely) SUCKS -- well, I suppose that is three words. When my dear friend Cathy shared her ALS diagnosis with me last year, she said, "I want to raise some money!" DID WE EVER! This is my second year as Team Captain of Cathy's Crew and I am so honored. Last year, Cathy's Crew raised over $100,000 and we had over 150 team members. We were a sea of blue at the Jim Tracy 5K and it was an incredibly memorable and emotional day.
I visit Cathy every week, kind of my own version of "Tuesdays with Morrie" (for those of you that may remember the lovely book by Mitch Albom). Though Cathy's mobility is very, very limited, her spirit remains indelible -- she's feisty and funny...and it all comes through with amazing iPad modifications that she controls solely with her eyes. AMAZING!
And, Cathy now has a motorized wheelchair and other supports from the ALS Association. Let's do this. Let's raise big money to DEFEAT ALS and to support those living with ALS every day...like Cathy.
With love,
Liz
