Honoring my Grandpa James
Dear Friends and Family,
In 2021, my Grandfather, James Tse, received the diagnosis of ALS. Despite the challenges, I cherish the moments we share together. We still engage in conversations and enjoy watching sports, a shared passion between us. His love for sports mirrors my own, making our time together even more special. My grandfather's spirits remain unwavering, and his love for sports burns as brightly as ever. He faces this disease with strength and determination, undeterred by its challenges. His resilience in the face of adversity inspires us all.
With the support of our community, we can unite to raise funds for ALS research, striving towards finding a cure and offering aid to those affected by this condition. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against ALS.
Your donation and efforts to raise awareness for this cause are truly appreciated. Thank you for your support in making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by ALS.
Sincerely,
Randall Tom
Why I Run...
I will be participating in the Jim Tracy 5K, Walk and Roll to Cure ALS I run to support those affected by Lou Gehrig's Disease and to spread awareness for the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
What is ALS?
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe.
Why We Need Your Help
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
1. The average life expectancy of an ALS patient is two to five years from the time of diagnosis.
2. Every 90 minutes someone in this country is diagnosed with ALS, and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease.
3. ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease. Someone you know or love may die from ALS unless a cure is found.
4. Caring for a loved one with ALS costs on average of $300,000 each year.
